Impact
Grace and Hope has successfully offered financial assistance to every family enrolled. Further we have obtained enough books to begin a community free-book program.

Needs
Our top needs include:
  1. Volunteers to assist with tutoring and mentoring;
  2. $2,231 to supply material and team fees for Lego First teams;
  3. Financial assistance to offer tuition support to families;
  4. Physical education equipment and playground equipment.

Background
Grace and Hope Academy was born out of a passion to offer an extraordinary and innovative learning experience to all children, regardless of race, ethnicity, culture or socio-economic status – while preparing them to be the Christ-centered leaders of tomorrow. We have a passion to engage with the community and its families to produce lasting transformation and change.

Research supports our passion. Schools, families and communities are stronger when the three work together toward the best interest of each entity’s need. We strive to be a nexus that promotes and encourages cooperative learning, working, service and ultimately growth. Our classically-influenced curriculum includes Latin, grammar and foreign language from the earliest grade levels. Students participate in both collaborative, project-based and quest-based learning activities and independent, self-directed assignments.

CEO Statement
At Grace and Hope Academy we are excited to offer an engaging, individualized and "un-hurried" educational program to each student.  We hold ourselves accountable to every family to help develop their children into lifelong learners who will someday serve their communities, nation and world as global citizens and leaders. Our students are reminded daily that they have an amazing purpose, and we pride ourselves on the great responsibility and privilege of helping them to accomplish it.

As a community-centered school , our students are responsible for developing and implementing community service projects bi-annually. However, as a school in a low socioeconomic community we will also rely on our community for volunteers, advisory and financial support. We offer our appreciation in advance.

Programs
Description

Our Program:

  • One computer to one-student ratio
  • Emphasis on digital, project-based and quest-based learning
  • Students learn in multi-level communities, instead of grades, which allows them to learn at their own pace.
  • Each student's curriculum plan is individually designed based on admissions student achievement testing
  • Instruction is standards-based, but not SOL-driven.
  • Our school practices a “Schole’” learning philosophy which means “restful” – a relaxed learning environment
  • Along with traditional subjects such as math, literature, and history, students also study Latin, foreign language, logic, theology and rhetoric.
Budget $333,900.00
Description Given the low-income reality of many Tri-cities families, it is important that we support our students in health and wellness. Therefore, breakfast is provided to our students free of charge.
