Statements
Mission Richmond Ruff House is dedicated to rescuing homeless dogs from animal control and public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to overcrowding and overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect by providing them with temporary shelter for the purpose of finding permanent suitable new homes.
Impact In our first year (2015), we were able to rescue 22 dogs from area shelters. We continue to grow as an organization and are looking to more than double that number in 2016.
Needs

Our biggest need for 2016 is additional volunteers willing to temporarily foster the dogs in our care. Foster volunteers are truly the backbone of our organization as without them, we would not have a safe environment to place our dogs while they are being treated and waiting to be placed in a permanent home.

We also are looking to purchase a transport vehicle to safely carry our dogs to local adoption events as well have the ability to rescue more dogs at a time from area shelters.

Background Richmond Ruff House was founded in 2015 after realizing the need for additional support to help reduce the number of dogs that are euthanized in animal shelters throughout Virginia.
CEO Statement Our top priority at Richmond Ruff House is to not only temporarily safe guard the animals during their transition to a permanent home, but to also provide them a better quality of life starting the moment they come into our care. Each animal is treated as though they were our own personal pet.
