Impact

In the 2014 season, the Ashland Swim Team:

  • had 202 swimmers on our roster
  • competed in six regular season swim meets
  • sent 44 of 54 qualifying swimmers to the league championship meet
  • won the Best Video of the year award from GRAL
  • raised over $5000 for the Jamie Hess Fund, in honor of one of our former swimmers. Our swimmers always enthusiastically support this pediatric cancer fund by collecting pledges as well as donating their own money.
Needs

Although we operate on a shoestring budget, we do have expenses, such as coaches' salaries and replacing our equipment (lane lines, starter, stopwatches, etc.). Our most immediate need is to replace our aging lane lines. The purchase price on these is just under $5000 and does not include a hefty shipping surcharge.

Background

Our team started in 1995 as a practice team with one exhibition meet. We joined GRAL in 1996. We have been blessed to have had our head coach with the team since 2000.
