LCVEF seeks to continue funding a the third grade field trip to Washington, D. C., the mini-grant program, and the Celebration of Excellence.    In 2015 the Foundation added field trips for the fifth, sixth, and seventh grades to venues in Richmond and Newport News, Va.   In addition, we are now supporting STEM programs for the Middle and High school as well as sponsoring a robotic team for each school.  Finally, we are now supporting the Early College Academy where junior and senior Lancaster High Students may earn college credit by taking dual enrollment classes at Rappahannock Community College, thus lowering college financial burden.
LCVEF began service in 2007 with a three-year grant of $40,000 from the Wiley Foundation.  These funds supported the initiation of the Wilson Reading Program into the Primary Schools.  Subsequently, an additional $60,000 has been raised from various sources to support various programs in the Primary, Middle, and High Schools. As of June 30, 2017, LCVEF has given back over $500,000 to Lancaster County Public Schools, everything from technology to field trips to academic recognition.
