Background
K Dance was incorporated and received IRS non-profit status in 2000. Permanent exemption from Federal income tax was received March 2005.

Kaye Weinstein Gary, director of K Dance, has had a long career as a solo dancer and teacher.  This company is an outgrowth of her creative vision and desire to work, project to project with different companies, choreographers and directors.  With the support of K Dance Board of Directors, this company reflects the creative ideas of the artistic director in producing original theatre works, educating the public about modern dance and theatre and is developing a more confident and wiser audience.

YES! Dance Invitational, (formally "Yes, Virginia - Dance"), an annual invitational, began in 1999.  Each year eight companies perform in Richmond.  Touring costs for small ensembles prevent some of these groups from visiting Richmond for a full concert, but YES! Dance Invitational brings these groups together for a shared evening of exciting performing and choreography.  "Yes" celebrates current trends in contemporary modern dance and brings together national artists, such as Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch."

K Dance is a small company, yet in the course of a year, a large number of artists are brought together to present work that is original, creative, and sometimes abstract in nature.  Each concert provides audience members a chance to have a thoughtful and meaningful theatre experience.
