Background
Good Shepherd Episcopal School has provided first-quality educational choice to families in the Richmond area since 1971.  Here are some of our key findings:
  • First, we've found that academic cooperation, rather than competition, is a "secret ingredient" to our students' success.  That's why GSES incorporates peer-to-peer learning along with direct instruction.
  • Second, we've discovered that it's important to embrace every student's strengths by taking an individualized approach to education.  We teach core subjects in relation to a maximum achievement plan created for the success of each and every student.  Our students consistently achieve at higher rates than the national average and go on to attend the high school of their choice.
  • Finally, we know that a strong sense of community is important for parents and students.  Good Shepherd welcomes everyone and fosters an environment of respect, support and encouragement.  With a strong community foundation, students grow more confident and capable of success in high school and beyond.
The school currently enrolls about 100 children in Kindergarten through Grade Eight.

The average class size is 10.

The student-to-teacher ratio is 8:1

Twenty-five full- and part-time faculty carry out instructional, operational and administrative responsibilities.
