Mission To make Biblical counseling from licensed mental health professionals accessible to anyone who has need, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.
Impact
In 2015-2016, the Center for Christian Counseling provided 4,120 hours of counseling and served a total of 543 clients.
Needs
As a nonprofit counseling ministry, 60% of our clients are unable to pay the full cost of a counseling session.  The Center for Christian Counseling exists because of contributions provided by those who see the need in today's society to support those who are unable to gain access to professional mental health services.  In 2015-2016, the CFCC provided over 4100 hours of counseling, two-thirds of which required that we use monies from the Counseling Scholarship Fund to pay therapists.  While some of our needs are met by Program Fees, which are collected from our clients on a sliding scale, the balance of the cost of a session must come from contributions.

Other needs we face regularly require volunteer help.  We often have projects and speaking engagements that need volunteers to assist with project details and organizational tasks.  The CFCC also has non-client office tasks where volunteers would be most welcome.  In addition, many of our underprivileged clients are unable to afford childcare and, therefore, cannot consistently come to therapy.  Volunteers providing childcare in our offices while a client meets with their therapist helps provide the temporary support required for some clients to get on their feet.
Background
The Center for Christian Counseling (CFCC) is a nonprofit counseling ministry serving the Metro Richmond area.  We provide Christian counseling from licensed therapists.  In 2016, there were 7 therapists with an ability to serve a wide range of needs, including substance abuse, family and relational conflict dysfunction, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and other disorders and life issues.  We serve couples, families and individuals from ages 3 to 93.
